eBooks FAQ

1. Where will my eBook be downloaded?

Your eBook will be downloaded onto the computer you use for the download. The default download location is usually your desktop. If, after downloading, you can’t locate your eBook on your computer, you can perform a search.

2. What if I can’t find it?

If you still can’t find it, go back to your account at New Harbinger. Sign in with your user name and password. You will see a link to all your New Harbinger ebooks.

3. In what formats are eBooks available from New Harbinger?

At this time we have pdf versions available of our printed books. New Harbinger offers ebooks in PDF and ePub format. At present, we have more PDFs than ePubs, but we’re making more available each month. Please check back frequently. If you have a particular title you’d like to purchase as an ePub, tell us about it at customerservice@newharbinger.com. However, we will soon have ebooks available in the industry standard ePub format. Check back soon.

4. Can I buy New Harbinger eBooks elsewhere?

Yes, New Harbinger eBooks are available on several online bookseller sites.

5. Do I need any special software to read the eBook?

Yes, you will need Adobe Reader to read your eBook. You may already have it, but if not, it can be downloaded for free from Adobe at http://get.adobe.com/reader/.

To view PDF ebooks on your desktop computer, you’ll need Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader. Download for free from Adobe at http://get.adobe.com.

There are a few ePub readers for desktop computers, of which Adobe Digital Editions is probably the most widely used. Digital Editions is available as a free download at http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/.

Most major ebook-reading devices, including those from Amazon, Apple, Barnes and Noble, and Borders support both PDF and ePub files, although the procedures for loading these files onto those devices vary.

6. Can I read a PDF ebook on my iPad? How do I add a PDF or an epub to my iTunes?

Yes. Apple's iBook application supports both ePub and PDF formats, regardless of where you acquired your file. Please see the Apple site for more information www.apple.com/support/ipad

7. Can I print an eBook?

Yes. New Harbinger places no restrictions on any ebook we sell directly that would prevent printing. Generally, if you plan to print the worksheets of your ebook, we recommend you purchase the PDF version as ePubs are generally not well-suited to printing. While it’s generally New Harbinger’s policy to not require digital rights management (DRM) on our titles, some retailers insist on protecting the files they sell. If you buy ebook versions of New Harbinger titles from other retailers, they may come with restrictions on printing.

8. Can I download my eBook onto two different computers?

Yes. If you buy your ebook directly from New Harbinger, yes. We place no restrictions on the files we sell directly. If you purchase your ebook from another retailer, the title may come with additional restrictions.

9. Is my eBook returnable/refundable?

New Harbinger proudly guarantees every book we publish. If you buy your ebook directly from New Harbinger, you may “return” your purchase for a refund or replacement at any time. You’re on your honor here: if you “return” your ebook, we trust that you’ll delete any copies you have stored on your computers or devices. Our purchase is 100% refundable.

10. I’m having trouble reading my eBook on my mobile device.

Please refer to the instructions that came with your device.

11. Can I read my New Harbinger eBook on my Amazon Kindle?

Amazon sells a number of New Harbinger titles directly on the Kindle Store, and you may be able to purchase the title you want directly through your device. Also, your Kindle may support PDF and ePub format ebooks you purchase from New Harbinger. Check your owner’s manual for details.

13.  Can I order an eBook over the phone?

No, all New Harbinger ebooks must be purchased through our website or through another online retailer.
