Michael E. Addis, Ph.D., is associate professor of psychology at Clark University in Worcester, MA. For several years, he has served as a clinical supervisor and trainer of therapists conducting behavioral activation treatments for depression. He received his BA from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1987, and his Ph.D. from the University of Washington in 1995. He has published over forty scientific articles and books on a range of topics including the treatment of depression, the relationship between research and practice in clinical psychology, and men's mental health. He is past recipient of the President's New Researcher Award from the Association for the Advancement of Behavior Therapy. In 2003, He received the researcher of the year award from the Society for the Psychological Study of Men and Masculinity, and the American Psychological Association's David Shakow Award for early career contributions to the science and practice of clinical psychology.

Susan Albers, Psy.D., is a clinical psychologist who specializes in eating issues and body image concerns.  She is an alumni of the University of Denver. Dr. Albers completed her internship at the University of Notre Dame and a post doctoral fellowship at Stanford University.  Her work has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, O, the Oprah Magazine, Self and Natural Health.  Dr. Albers gives mindful eating workshops to groups across the country and internationally.

Kelly C. Allison, Ph.D., was director of a recent study on NES at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. She is a clinical psychologist and instructor at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School.Allison received her BA from the University of Notre Dame in 1995 and he MA and Ph.D. from Miami University in 1997 and 2000, respectively. Along with researching treatment for night eating syndrome, she studies the sociocultural influences on eating disorders. She has appeared on television and is a frequent presenter at conferences.

Martin M. Antony, Ph.D., is professor of psychology at Ryerson University in Toronto, ON. He is also director of research at the Anxiety Treatment and Research Centre at St. Joseph's Healthcare in Hamilton, ON. He has published twenty-one books and more than 100 scientific papers and book chapters in the areas of cognitive behavior therapy and anxiety disorders. He has received early career awards from the Society of Clinical Psychology (American Psychological Association), the Canadian Psychological Association, and the Anxiety Disorders Association of America, and is a fellow of the American and Canadian Psychological Associations. He is past president of the Anxiety Disorders Special Interest Group of the Association for Advancement of Behavior Therapy (AABT, now Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies) and has been program chair for the AABT annual convention. John Argue is an actor, director, and theater arts teacher who has lived and worked in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1960. He has taught drama, movement and voice at U.C. Berkeley, S.F. State, and at the American Conservatory Theater. He worked as a drama therapist with children and adults in institutions during the 70’s and 80’s. In 1985 he began teaching movement and voice for people with Parkinson's disease at his studio, at Kaiser Permanente, and at other health facilities. His approach reflects his extensive training in yoga, tai-chi and dance. His method can improve flexibility, strength, balance, and coordination, help prevent falls, improve facial expressiveness and improve intelligibility of speech.

Christopher R. Auer, MA, is employed in the Mayor’s Office for Education and Children as the disabilities and mental health administrator for Denver’s Great Kids Head Start. He is a board member of the Foundation for Knowledge in Development (KID Foundation), founded by Lucy Jane Miller, and was appointed by the governor of Colorado to the Colorado Interagency Coordinating Council, which oversees disability services to children birth to three throughout the state. He holds licensure as a director of special education and is the parent of three children, one of whom is diagnosed with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and sensory processing disorder.

Nancy B. Austin, Psy.D., a graduate of the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology School/Child Program at Yeshiva University, has been a child psychologist in New York since 1988. She is also a psychoanalyst, with training from the Westchester Center for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy (WCSPP).  Austin is currently the associate director of the Lucio Bini Mood Disorders Center of New York, which specializes in research, consultation, diagnosis, and treatment of mood and anxiety disorders in children, adolescents, adults, and their families. 

Austin also maintains a private practice, specializing in children and adolescents diagnosed with bipolar disorder and their families. Her teaching and supervisory positions in New York State include the Lucio Bini Mood Disorders Center; New York Presbyterian Hospital, Psychology Internship Program; Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, Yeshiva University; Manhattanville College; the Child and Adolescent Program of WCSPP; and The Center for Preventive Psychiatry. She is currently a moderator for the therapists’ listserv for the JBRF. Austin’s clinical work and research on the IQ pattern of bipolar children has been presented at conferences and cited in several books on the subject.

Julie Jarrell Bailey is co-founder and consulting director to the North Carolina Center for Adoption Education and president of the board of directors of the Mandela Adoption Agency in Chapel Hill. Julie is a reunited birth mother, as well as the adoptive mother of three brothers.

C. Peter Bankart, Ph.D., has been actively engaged in his profession as a psychologist since 1971. He received his Ph.D. from Dartmouth College in experimental personality research with a specialty in behavior therapy, and took a job at Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana where he is a senior member of the faculty. He has lived in Japan for several years, taught at Waseda University in Tokyo, and has authored a textbook on the history of psychotherapy, Talking Cures,which was published by Brooks/Cole in 1997. Lynette Bassman, Ph.D., Lynette Bassman, Ph.D., is professor of psychology, specializing in health psychology, at the California School of Professional Psychology of Alliant International University. Bieling, Ph.D., is Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University and Director of Mood and Anxiety Services of St. Joseph's Healthcare, Hamilton, Ontario.
